Mr Eric Chew | Go to post ➜
I was tasked to stand at the gate from 8.30am to 9.30am to direct any new mentors to the canteen. During that one hour, the security gate uncle came and talked to me.
I have learned a lot during that one hour for he had passed me his experiences and wisdom of his working life and parts of his family situation.
Eric Chew was his name. He used to be a technician at Goodwood hotel. He told me about his boss at Goodwood hotel, his boss carries the same name as him, Eric smth, I can't remember. He told me that communication and knowing how to speak and the way you present yourself is very important in this world. His boss is a very good man, always call him brother but he never once called his boss brother but addressed him as 'Sir' or 'Mr smth' .
He also told me that in future when I start to work, do not talk about other people bad words in the office/ workplace. Always watch out for yourself do not back stab other other people at your office. Because the boss always has his eyes 'spies' around. Other people may back-stab you if you are not careful. DO NOT play politics at work because it can ruin your rice bowl anytime, you will never know when it will be broken. Be humble, there is no use of being proud in the working environment. Just understand about what is happening around you is enough, do not become a busy-body "ke-po" because nobody likes them.
When the boss ask you about someone for example "How do you think of the manager Mr Koo ?"
You cannot say bad things about him, neither can you say good things about him because the boss will think that you are boot-licking.
Then how should you answer ?
Answer : "Boss, see it for your own self. Different people have different perception. I am in no position to comment about him"
Something like that ... get it ?
Personality, how you carry yourself, is also important. He during his work at Goodwood hotel, he would come into contact with customers complaining about the electrical appliances. So he said, if the customers insist on something and you think that it is not in the Standard of Procedures "SOP" then tell the customer : " Please excuses me Sir/Madam, I shall ask/inform/consult/bring my supervisor. " He told me that there is no point arguing with the customer. Because the customer is the "king".
Mr Eric Chew resigned from Goodwood hotel after he met a ghost during the 7th month. He was reluctant after all, he had been with Goodwood hotel for about 16 years. He told me about the "lu" - chinese that if someone meets to "lu" something bad will happen. He met the 'lu' and instantly, his mouth was crooked. During that period, 3 people die in the hotel. Eric does not want to be the 4th person, and sooo ... he resigned.
He is a security guard at JunYuan primary school for almost 8 years now.
PS :
- I do not know what is a "lu" but I shall ask around.
- The conversation was mostly in Chinese... and my Chinese is not really good. So part of what he said, I do not really know. However understanding a general idea of what he said was good enough.
- I decided to 'open' back my blog to share this post with whoever you are. I want to share what he said, just like what he shared with me.
- Although the contents of this post seems to be common sense, I feel that there is no harm reading it. After all, human can be forgetful and make mistakes along the wayyyy .... This post is just to 'minimise the damage' .

Oh my goodness~ ~~~ I shall never ask mummy to wake me up in the morning anymore.
Sometimes it's too much and sometimes it is too little.
Yesterday, I told her to wake me up at 6am. Then she asked me to set my own alarm.
This morning which is a weekend, I was already half awake at 6am because of my alarm. But I chose to lay on the bed for a little while more. Then she came and lay beside me ... and smacked my butt twice calling out "wake up - wake up" in a very draggy tone. But I chose to ignore her. Then she did it again and again until I had no choice but to respond to her. But she still continued !!!
IT IS SO SUPER IRRITATING !!!!
Can you imagine? Hearing and having this type of treatment of waking up in the morning can send anyone into bad mood. But I restrain myself from lashing out at her. After all, without mummy, I may have dose off to lala-land.
However, on weekdays when she has to go to work, she would just walk into my room and call out to me "wake up, it is 7am already" and she goes off for work.
That is why I say " Sometimes it is too much and sometime too little. "
In the future, I shall only depend on myself !

Few days back, I received my PCA and CMA mid-sem result, gotten an A & a C+ respectively.
I have just received my Bus Fin mid-sem result, an A. Qns 1 & 2 full marks each, qns 3 = 0 mark.
Today... although the red sea is gone, I feel indifferent or rather I am feeling somewhat neither here nor there. Have I become a person without expression? A somewhat lifeless soul in my body.
Shouldn't a student that has scored an "A" grade be happy? Is it because I expected something to happen but it did not turn out the way I expected it to be?
Or maybe I am feeling depressed or kind-of-like " Wa Lau so wasted ! *sniff*" because I thought that question 3 was confirm correct. I thought maybe I can score full marks for Bus Fin mid-sem paper. The tutor told the class that none of us get the correct answer to question 3 and from what I heard ... only 1 person in the cohort get full marks for qns 3.
Sian ... my tutor added on ... this is the question that separates boys from men, & likewise for the opposite sex. Which means that this is the question that separates the very goods brains from a sea of good brains. haix... this sentence really eats into my heart/soul.
NEVER-MIND !!! I shall work harder ~~~ *sniff*

Stupid Lappy always DC for no reason which is damn irritating.
I was watching 07-GHOST yesterday, and chatting with Sondra. After watching episode 7 ~ I wanted to ask her if Frau is one of the GHOST. Maybe CAston-san and Labrador too. Or even the archbishop and the 3 maids. SOoo that makes it to 7.
ahh- but nvm, the stupid lappy can't access the Internet, so I went to bed.

Stupid Lappy always DC for no reason which is damn irritating.
I was watching 07-GHOST yesterday, and chatting with Sondra. After watching episode 7 ~ I wanted to ask her if Frau is one of the GHOST. Maybe CAston-san and Labrador too. Or even the archbishop and the 3 maids. SOoo that makes it to 7.
ahh- but nvm, the stupid lappy can't access the Internet, so I went to bed.

Something new | Go to post ➜
Today - mummy and I thought that the family will be eating leftovers from yesterday for lunch and dinner today. But who knows that everything was polished up clean during lunch except the duck which was left for dinner.
For dinner, I cooked leak and potato soup which is something new to the family and salad with my freshly made mustard + honey + lime dressing.
Positive comments for the soup I introduced :)
Mummy cooked pork chop in teriyaki sauce.
Ahhh~ desert was fruits - mango and lychees.
Yet Again, I'av bloated my stomach to the max ~ !!!
This is bad man ~ at this rate that my stomach goes, I am going to be fatter and fatter. Just like the duck =(

Something new | Go to post ➜

Anyway, celebrated fathers' day at aunt Hui Fern's place yesterday. Aunt molly suggested 'pot luck' a week before and all of us agreed. Soooo, as usual, when there is 'pot luck' or any other celebration, grandma, mummy and I would head down to the supermarkets and wet market to buy the groceries. Haix ... since I'm the youngest and the fittest among us, I'm responsible to carry all those heavy stuffs (~.~) Today woke up with aching shoulders, neck and upper arms =( due to the carrying of those heavy stuffs that stresses my muscles.
Popo - Steamed Fish , Scallops & Kueh Party
Aunt HF - Steamed Prawns
Aunt Molly - Beef Stew , Chicken Wings & Bee Hoon
Mummy - Plum Duck & Sweet & Sour Pork
Me - Salad with two different dressings ~ 1: Mustard & Honey 2: Minty olive oil ~ , Ice-cream with cones & summer fruits with chocolate dip.
Not forgetting Uncle Micheal's Kueh Kueh from Bengawan Solo + Uncle Teng Lee's Supply of wine.
All together, there were 12 homemade dishes and 1 assorted plate of Kuehs.
Hence, my stomach was bloated to the max !!!!!!!!!
After dinner we gathered around the television and watched "Echelon Conspiracy" - movie.
Damn Nicce =) After the movie, there was nth to do , sooo I joined WeiWei and Vera in the mini fake baseball battle. Woohoo ~ I didn't know that WeiWei watches baseball matches.
And so we played the mini fake baseball, it was so funnnnnnn . How I wish that it is real. XD
Holding a real baseball bat, a real baseball, a real baseball mitt on a real baseball ground/ field.
Ahhh~ hahaha ~ What am I thinking ?

More than just 2.4km | Go to post ➜
Alicia ~ Fighting - Fighting - fighting !!!!! GO Go go ~ Alicia Ganbatte !!!!
Conquered my personal barrier .
The barrier of " six round is enough ... you don't have to push yourself if you cannot take it ... you ran 2.4km already... ~ It's enough ~ "
BUT today, I jogged more than six rounds =) let me see... if I am not wrong, Alicia-sama jogged NINE (9) rounds :) Woohoo . Personal Best Record.
After jogging the sixth round, I felt that I can continue. Although I am panting, my legs gave no sign of fatigue. Does this means that I have improved ?
Ahhem ~ I feel so proud of myself, and also felt accomplished and satisfied after the jog. I want to thank my mummy for sponsoring me a pair of sports shoe. I also want to thank GOD for providing me such a nice weather to jog.

More than just 2.4km | Go to post ➜

Conquered my personal barrier .
The barrier of " six round is enough ... you don't have to push yourself if you cannot take it ... you ran 2.4km already... ~ It's enough ~ "
BUT today, I jogged more than six rounds =) let me see... if I am not wrong, Alicia-sama jogged NINE (9) rounds :) Woohoo . Personal Best Record.
After jogging the sixth round, I felt that I can continue. Although I am panting, my legs gave no sign of fatigue. Does this means that I have improved ?
Ahhem ~ I feel so proud of myself, and also felt accomplished and satisfied after the jog. I want to thank my mummy for sponsoring me a pair of sports shoe. I also want to thank GOD for providing me such a nice weather to jog.

Busy week | Go to post ➜
My blog goes private ~ woohoo ~ privatizeddd so that I can add in more private stuff in subsequent posts , (-3-) kekekke.
Today
My lappy kena shoo-ed away to make way for oto-san's new desktop. haix ...
And the computer table in the living room will shift into my room. tsk , troubles & troublesome. Very mar fan de lor...
Yosh ! I have to start doing some clearing and cleaning now.

Bao Bah Zhang for dragon boat festival. Damn tired at the end of the day. Finally I managed to wrap a perfect rice dumpling. pff , feels so good to accomplish something =)
Oto-san bought a new desktop... haix , it seems like every IT fair, someone in my family will surely buy something...
Obviously, it's onii-chan who went down to get the desktop for him. 'tsktsktsk'.

Aunt Claire's and Uncle Kenji's big day, their wedding day =) Hence I reckon that I'll be eating more food than usual and that's really true. Soooo to counter against this, I woke up early at 6.30am for a jog. Nothing beats a jog in the morning when the air is still fresh and a cold shower after the jog =) ahh ~ it's damn refreshing - trust me - you should try doing this =)
Busy Busy day.
1st up, 9am had to reach the church somewhere at hougang - upper sembawang area. Almost late for the church service, uncle Micheal speed all the way to the church. I'm just glad that we're safe and sound =) Buffet! and wedding cake~ woohoo -
In between the tea ceremony, there's a 2 hours break, so with the rented car, uncle Michealpunggol park and hougang mall, while the rest of the family opted to retire at their home sweet home =)
Next, there is the regular chinese tea ceremony, ah-haha, polar chicken pies , curry puffs, chocolate and vanilla swiss rolls. I shared the chocolate swiss roll with aunt molly and the chicken pie with Jojo. I thought I come that ' you-know-the-red-sea' hahha, but it's just false alarm *chill*
After the tea ceremony, uncle Micheal suggested to have a little snack. Holy macaroni ~ food again. So we head down to Serangoon Garden Food Centre (Chomp Chomp) where all the famous hawker food is concentrated drove us to . But, unfortunately, it was closed. So we went to a nearby Indiancoffee shop. Prata Kosong and milo dinosaur for me. pffp ~ my stomach is full to the max.
About an hour of rest then it's time to head down to Sheraton towers for the wedding dinner. Woot 5 stars hotel =) ***** =) awesome. After dinner, there came an unexpected buffet of desserts. A range of macaroons to bread pudding to cheese cakes to cream puffs to jelly etc =) fantastic =DDDD
See , I told you. It's sort of a food fair today :b wahahha.
ohoh , we spot 2 handsome men today =)
1 of them is a japanese and the other is a singaporean named eric.
During the church service, he wore those thick black specs. But during the wedding dinner, he took off his specs.
Anyway, from far he is not-bad-looking , but i realised the close up of his face has lots of dots or pimples or freckles.

Went out with JoJo, Miss Rebecca Tan aka Malacca , aunt hui-fern aka ee- yea aka Fern tree and mummy, for bowling, billiard aka american pool and movie. But didn't managed to catch any selected movie because of our bad timing and overwhelming response of the newly released movies.
AHhahahha ee-yea and Jojo and even miss tan gave a thumb up for Judo =)
After all those games, we went to Century square to shop for miss tan's dress for the wedding dinner. I bought a sports bra (^.^) pierre cardin ~woot ~

Mummy is back from kota kinabalu ... the house's atmosphere is .... somewhat lively ... yet some what irritating as well.
As usual, mummy is glued to the computer, particularly facebook, haix. I was watching TV and she suddenly call for me to look at her screen.
dot dot dots ... uncle Micheal is chatting with one of his friends, a girl, and mummy is like ... a 'toot' and she feels guilty reading their conversation.
A few days back, I was thinking of taking up aikido at either Bedok CC or Fengshan CC. However both CCs does not have any classes on Aikido. Soooo ... the search continues , and I stumbled upon Judo ~ at Fengshan CC, I was very excited about it after all , Honey senpai from Ouran High School Host Club is an expert of Judo (o3o) 'moé' 'moé' =)
dong dong dong qiang ~ I told mummy about my plans on Judo and she flatly said "no". holy macaroni, she heartlessly pierced an arrow through my heart *sob* . Then obviously I asked for a reasonable reason for not allowing me to join the Judo class. And she said, no particular reason... 'tsk' the arrow was pierced even deeper... *cry*
So I threaten her that I'll tell uncle Micheal about her guiltiness and she still didn't give in. So I cheekily told uncle Micheal about it.
Bang ! WTH , we even wrestled over these 2 matters.
Anyway, I shall not go into further details concerning today's problems.

Finally, I get to drink my long awaited mocha at starbucks. Sent mummy and other family members off at the airport in the morning.
Puffh~ I must be crazy to send them off so early in the morning. In the end, I had to sit at the airport and wait for eileen + needless to say, the highly acclaimed late queen.
Cluedo at Hougang ~ it's much more interesting playing with 4 people rather than 3 people ~ 50-50 % of risk assessment. hahah.
Somehow, just spending almost my entire day at peiqi's house had wear-off my energy.
