7 Days in China !
~ Day 1 - 8 September 2012 ~
On board Tiger flight from Singapore to Guangzhou
~ Day 2 - 9 September 2012 ~
Touch down Guangzhou early in the morning at 1.50am. After immigration and baggage collection , it was around 2.30am.
There were many illegal taxi services just outside the airport , and they use unmarked vehicles or their own vehicles and usually cost a lot more than the norm. But luckily we followed other china people to the legal taxi stand.
Reached The Bauhinia Hotel along JieFang South Road , YeiXiu District at around 3.30am
NO ROOM !
Because we messed up our dates !The hotel staff told us that we have to book the night of 8 sept if we were to check in on the 9 sept early morning.
But the staff was kind enough to call other nearby hotels if there are available rooms.
Fully booked !
Anyway , we sat down on the couch and waited for time to pass.
4.30am : We cannot tolerate sitting on the couch. So we went for a walk along the Pearl River.
No soul in sight.
5 am : Finally we spot a local exercising along the Pearl River.
6.30 am : We went to the restaurant at the 2nd floor of the hotel's building for Yum Chai.
They suggest Gong Fu Chai . 15 Yuan / person . And that is 3 SGD / person just for tea !
Sui Mai
Chicken Feet ( Phoenix Claws )
Pork Ribs with mashed Pumpkin
Char Sui Rice Rolls
I have no idea what is this but it is a type of dessert made of Black Glutinous Rice.
Tasted some thing like Bubur Pulut Hitam in the dry form but the grains are not mushy at all.
Delicious !
Minced Beef wrapped in wanton.
Vegetable Dumpling

Lotus wrapped rice
Fillings inside the rice
Xiao Long Bao
Not enough soup in it !
No idea what is this. But it looks nice.
However the taste is .... yuck !
Ha Kao with 3 prawns in it !
Delicious =)

Our Dim Sum cost us about 200 Yuan which is about 10 SGD / person .
Cheap ~
Finally we have our rooms at 9.30am after other people checked out.
Not bad for a 3 star hotel could be a 4 star hotel if they have more facilities.
Washed up and slept for 2 hours.
Then we head down to Gangding Computer & Digital Shopping Circle and bought 2 Onda Tablets .
After buying , we head down to HuangSha Aquatic Products Market for dinner .
Fresh live seafood
After buying our seafood , the guy brought us to Guang Na Seafood Restaurant .
Baby Mantis Prawn
Difficult to eat and no meat ~
But saw a lot of locals eating it .
Scallops
Crab with lots of roe
Baby Bamboo Clams
White Clams with Tofu Soup
Baby Abalone
Lobster
Water snails
The seafood cost us 1,600 Yuan , and that is 320 SGD .
Without the cooking charges.
There were too many "star" dishes for the 4 of us .
We sat at the restaurant and ate for 3 solid hours !
We were bloated , full to the max .
2 weeks after our trip , my dad had a stroke due to high cholesterol levels .
But the 2 old folks were safe cause they brought along their medicine .
Therefore , the moral of story is to exercise constraint .
Do not buy and buy and buy despite the fact that it looks tempting .
